Justin Mathieu specialized in reliefs with historical and religious motifs, which were exhibited in the Parisian salons between 1846 and 1864. His brilliant, multi-figure depictions in small-format reliefs made of various materials were very popular and were sought after by the affluent middle-class. Condition Report: Backing slightly loose. Glass fine, some chips to the frames. Copies of Justin Mathieu.
