Large bronze sculptures, like the one depicted, are typically made using a process called hollow lost-wax casting. This technique allows for the creation of large, freestanding bronze statues without the impracticality and material cost of solid bronze, which would also be prone to cracking during cooling due to the physical properties of the metal.
