SEAMLESS- Driving our fashion industry to circularity by 2030

07/06/2023

Did you know that on average Australian’s buy 56 new items of clothing each year? That’s according to the Clothing Data report presented by the Australian Fashion Council in 2022. We’re the second largest consumers of clothing in the world – just behind the United States.

This is just one of the reasons the Australian Fashion Council, alongside a consortium of industry leaders across the clothing supply chain have established “Seamless” the clothing product stewardship program.

The program was officially launched in Sydney on 7 June, with Federal Minister for Environment Tanya Pilbersek, the Australian Fashion Council, charity retailers and clothing retailers from across the country.

At Salvos Stores, we’ve been involved in the design of the scheme and will continue to act as an active member as we work towards clothing circularity by 2030.

You can stay up to date on the Clothing Product Stewardship Program by taking the pledge with the Australian Fashion Council
